10 things every UAE small business needs on its website in 2026
A no-fluff checklist we run every new UAE small business site against — from AED/USD checkout to WhatsApp lead flows, Arabic RTL support and the schema.org bits Google actually reads.
1A WhatsApp lead path
UAE customers overwhelmingly prefer WhatsApp for first contact. A prominent floating button + WhatsApp in the header + pre-filled message templates on every CTA. This one change alone typically doubles form-to-lead conversion.
2AED and USD pricing
A Dubai audience is 30–50% expats and tourists. Show local prices in AED, plus a currency switcher for USD/EUR/GBP. For e-commerce, wire Stripe to charge in the currency the visitor selected.
3Local payment gateways
Telr, PayTabs and Network International accept regional debit cards (especially Rakbank and ADCB) that some international gateways silently reject. Add Apple Pay + Google Pay for another 20% of mobile checkouts.
4VAT-ready invoicing
Automatic VAT lines on every invoice (5% for most UAE businesses), TRN displayed in the footer, and downloadable PDF receipts. Skipping this leads to real Federal Tax Authority headaches down the line.
5Arabic RTL (where it matters)
Not every business needs a full Arabic site — but Arabic contact instructions, WhatsApp templates, and product names help. If you serve nationals or GCC customers, do a full RTL version. Google indexes it separately, giving you a second bite at rankings.
6Core Web Vitals under Google’s thresholds
LCP under 2.5 seconds, INP under 200ms, CLS under 0.1. Google demotes slow sites in 2026 more aggressively than ever. On mobile, this often means dropping a bloated theme + retiring 6 heavy plugins.
7Local business schema (JSON-LD)
Add LocalBusiness or ProfessionalService schema with your Dubai address, phone, opening hours and areaServed. This is what makes your business appear in Google’s local map pack — free traffic most competitors leave on the table.
8Real testimonials with structured data
Import Google reviews via API, or paste 4–6 real client quotes (name, company, headshot). Wrap them in Review schema so the star rating shows in search results.
9Analytics that answers real questions
GA4 alone tells you almost nothing useful. Add a heatmap tool (Hotjar / Clarity — Clarity is free) and event tracking on every WhatsApp button, phone tap, and form submit. Look at the data monthly.
10A CMS your team can actually use
If you can’t add a new blog post, edit a price, or swap a photo in under 3 minutes without calling the developer, the CMS is wrong. Elementor + WordPress works. Shopify’s admin works. A “custom builder” a boutique agency invented rarely does.
